About Mrs. Hedges
I was born in Frankfurt, Germany and moved to Oregon at the age of two. I grew up in Tigard, attending Metzger Elementary, Fowler Junior High, and Tigard High School. While at Fowler, I had our beloved Hopkins principal, Mr. Smith, as my P.E. teacher.
I attended Linfield College in McMinnville for my undergraduate work in both Elementary Education and French. During my time at Linfield I played on the tennis team, ran my first marathon, and spent a semester in Paris, studying and traveling. A few years later I completed my Masters in Reading and Literacy through Walden University.
I started teaching at Hopkins fourteen years ago. I have taught both second and third grade, all in room 13. I have also taught after school and summer French classes. My favorite subjects to teach are math and art.
I have been married to my husband, Andy, for eleven years. We live in Portland with our two cats, Stinky and Phi. In my spare time I enjoy reading, painting, baking, cooking, renovating our 1911 home, biking, running, traveling, sunsets, anything French, and new adventures.
