Weekly Newsletter


   What a wacky week we had!  Thanks to you all for sticking with us.  Every child brought back their interview and I am excited to get started with those next week.

Math: This week we finished up the initial multiplication unit and reviewed addition and subtraction. 
Reading: We read The Keeping Quilt and talked about family traditions a bit more.
Writing: Students wrote about their first day of school and began working through the writing process.  I am excited to watch as they grow as writers this year.

     I have had such a great time getting to know your child.  I am really happy to be back at work and surrounded by such great kids.  This week's newsletter is coming to you via email, backpack mail and our website.  Typically I will email and try my best to update our class website.  If you prefer a hard copy or you have a different email address please let me know ASAP.  By the way, check out our website to learn more about me, read our newsletter and keep up on other important things.

This Week's Highlights:

   Math: We learned more about the communicative property of Multiplication/Division as well as fact families.  We also worked on graphing.

    Reading: Our reading unit is all about family traditions.  This week we read lots of little books about family traditions as well as some non-fiction.  Next week students will begin writing about family traditions; please help them complete their interview and return it to school as soon as they are finished.

    Writing: Students did a lot of responding to reading and they also began their cursive packet.
