Hopkins 42nd Annual Hoop De Do Carnival!

Find your way to Camp Hopkins on Friday April 28th, 2017, 5:00 to 8:30 pm for games for all ages, prizes, food and silent auction items you can't miss!  Raffle and meal ticket pre-order forms are available in the Hopkins office, as well and game card pre-order forms.  Tickets will also be available at the carnival.  See you there!

Thank you to all of our wonderful parents, PTAC and local businesses that made our Staff Appreciation Week here at Hopkins so amazing!  We truly enjoyed all the goodies that were brought in for us.  The generosity demonstrated throughout this week makes us feel appreciated and supported.

Kindergarten Round-Up - April 19 from 3:30 to 6:00pm

Meet the teachers, turn in registration packets, and learn how to prepare for the transition to elementary school.  Registration packets are also available at school offices beginning April 3rd.  Birth Certificate, immunization records and 2 items for proof of address are required to complete enrollment.

Hopkins Family Math Night

Tuesday  March 7, Hopkins will host Family Math Night from 6-7:30 pm, and we want you to bring your family and come!  There will be a raffle with amazing prizes, estimation jars, math games, iPads to use, and a free dessert bar!  Plus, each child will get to take home a grade-level specific item that helps support their math learning at home.  We hope you take advantage of the fun, free event and get connected with your child's school.  Hoping to see you there!

Emergency Information

At Sherwood School district, the safety of our students and staff is our number one priority.  In the event of an emergency, we have procedures and plans in place to help keep everyone safe.

There are several ways the District will communicate with parents/guardians during an emergency:
  • FlashAlert:  Parents/guardians may sign up to receive text/email alerts for both school closure/delay due to weather or other events, as well as information in the event of an emergency.  To sign up for FlashAlert, please go to their website.
  • Phone Call/Email:  The District has a phone system in place which enables us to call and/or email all parents/guardians with information and instructions in the event of an emergency.  You do not need to sign-up for this service; all we ask is that your keep your contact information current in your child's school records.

Reading Night! November 15, 2016, 6:00-7:00pm

Mark your calendars!  Family Reading Night, sponsored by Title I and PTAC, is coming on Tuesday, November 15.  A FREE pizza dinner will be served starting at 6:00 and grade level classrooms will open at 6:30.  Wear Your PJs and listen to special guests read some favorite stories.  Each Hopkins student who attends will get to take home a free book, too! Book Fair - November 3 - 10, 2016

Hours are:  
Nov. 3rd, 4th, 7th and 8th:  7:30a to 3:30p
Nov. 9th:  8:00a to 8:00p
Nov. 10th: 8:00a-11:00a

If you are interested in volunteering at the Book Fair, please see the sign-up sheet on the Library door, or contact Dawn Lowe at 503-825-5209.

If  you would like, here is a fun way for  your child to help build his/her classroom library with loose change:

     Monday, 10/31 - Bring your pennies
     Tuesday, 11/01 - Bring your nickels
     Wednesday, 11/02 - Bring your dimes
     Thursday, 11/03 - Bring your quarters
     Friday, 11/04 - Bring whatever loose change you want.

Winners will be announced from each grade as well as the overall grade winners.  Teachers will use the monies collected to buy books from the fair.  We will have teacher wish lists if you prefer to donate a specific book.  If you have any questions, please contact Dawn Lowe, Media Educational Coordinator at 503-825-5209.

BINGO NIGHT! Tuesday, October 11, 2016

Come one, come all!  Connect 5 in a row and call out BINGO!  Hopkins annual Bingo Night  is fun and entertaining for the whole family!  Join us Tuesday, October 11th, 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and get a chance at winning some pretty neat prizes.  Popcorn and bottled water will be available for purchase.  Practice your jump and shout, we will see your smiling faces next week!
